I thought Connexions was just for young people up to 25...or is it just local here?
I've only ever seen it from the other side - I worked for a while with life long learning and I started (but didn't finish as my job changed) a qualification for giving Information Advice and guidance for people wanting to return to work, or move pathways. The training we had was thorough and taught us to look at the clients from all angles and in a non-discriminatory mannner, looking at their skills and the best routes to signposting them to work which would suit their skills or would develop them. This was some time ago, it may have changed a bit - but it will certainly be interesting for you to have a consultation. Let us know how you get on!
