I use Canon Photo Stitch to make panorama pictures of a number of pictures stitched together. It is very easy to use.
This comes with Canon cameras, but if you hunt round the web you should be able to find a copy to download.
I think you will need to download each picture to your hard disk. It will be easier if they are all in the same directory.
Note photostitch will "stitch" them in the order they are selected so you need to make sure you select them in the right order before starting the stitching.
The pics my friend emailed to me are in my Outlook. When i go into the email and right click on the picture, the only options i get are 'copy' and 'select all'
Saved them to desktop but they are as word docs. Think the problem is that my mate scanned them so they appear on a blank word doc if that makes sense (by that i mean they have white borders)
If at all possible it would be far easier to ask your friend to send the picture again as one single image (preferably as a proper image file, not a word doc)
If the scan is too large to be sent as one email (I suspect this is why they done it in 5 separate mails to start with) then suggest they use a file hosting site such as yousendit or similar, then they can upload the pic there and simply send you the link to download the pic in it's entirety.
