HelpI havebought and paid for a washing machine but the shop has gone bust

I arranged to collect the items once my kitchen extension was finished andpaid early to secure a discount.
I did not pay by credit card - is there any way I can either get the goods (which are in the warehouse) or get my money back ?

Do they have a website or contact number? i would think theyll have a company dealing with existing customers if theyve gone bust. Good luck

You need to speak to the accountant handling the liquidation. How do you know they have gone bust and not simply stopped trading .If its because you have had a letter contact the name on the letter.

Hi - I contacted the liquidators andthey told me to claim on my homecontents insurance- they couldnt have been more unpleasant - and I know it is not covered by my insurance

Sometimes liquidators can come across a bit on the side of the person who has gone under. i once experienced the same when a company we dealt with went bust a week after ordering £25000 worth of fabric from us. We had a clause in our contract which meant we were able to claim our fabric back but surprise surprise there was none left. When I spoke to the liquidator he told me well its only £25000 the poor man has lost everything .(except our fabric I think!!!!) It sounds like you dont have much hope unfortunately. Although if you hav proof you paid in full surely that makes it your property and they cannot keep it. unless of course it was never there in the first place.

It seems to suggest that in your type of situation that you are entitled to the washing machine.

This appears to be be the only glimmer of hope in that situation.
"If your goods (such as a kitchen or items of furniture) are sitting in a warehouse clearly labelled with your name, then the company is obliged to honour the order and give them to you as, technically, ownership of the goods will have passed to you".
A pretty unlikely scenario, I fear.
