Boxtops, it was a facility that enabled us to speak privately with other ABers without giving our personal email addresses. I'd really like to see it reinstated.
Ah, I see - instead of having to share the odd email address as happens now. Was it not open to abuse though? - I can see the nice side of it, but can imagine what could happen if the weirdos started on you privately, nobody else would know?
Yeah it was intentional. I was having a really hard time (my Uncle died and 2 days later my Dad was given 6 months to live) and I found I couldn't be nice to anyone on here so stopped using it. Don't think I came back on for over a year.
No, it wasn't open to abuse. For example, I'd send you an invitation, and if you accepted, then we would be able to send each other private messages. If you declined, that would be the end of the story. No private contact.
PM's were allowed on a site I used some tears ago. One big problem with them was certain users would privately plot against an individual and get the cyber bullying thing going..........not nice.
Thanks Spare Ed. I look forward to the changes being completed.
McMouse, but that can happen by other means anyway. Lots of people here seem to be friends on Facebook, just as an example, so what's to stop them using that to plot to bully someone on AB?
