I have in the past Sqad, I find those sorts of things really interesting lol
no mention of the cause yet, bobjugs. I'm just pointing out that it's a bit early to say 'Nothing in the story bears any relation to my life'.
JNO, ok i'll rephrase that. Nothing in the story at the moment bears any relation to my life at present.
air travel

statistically the safest way to die
Point of order - 90% of air crashes are NOT the fault of pilot error.

I watch a show on the Discovery Channel called 'Air Crash Investigation'. In met cases, crashes are caused by a series of unconnected events (eg. maintenance faults, weather, communications failures and equipment failures).

Pilot error is actually quite rare.
re the OP - yes I noticed, it was an internal flight in Pakistan, it was on the news this morning. Thought no more about it. It's a bit like the post the other day about 12000 people getting malaria in Africa - we haven't discussed that much either.

See my post on this thread.
Crashes are a usually a series of events. One thing leads to another which leads to another. A dead pilot is always a good scapegoat
btw - it may indeed affect some people here in the UK, several of our friends still have family living in Pakistan.

Spooky - didn't actually see your post.

Air Crash Investigations is the reason I've developed a fear of flying late in life...I now know all the various ways in which a plane can fall out of the sky.

...and there are LOADS.
