While I was off work, people kept asking me if I was enjoying my enforced "trial early retirement". It was amusing at first, but the joke eventually wore very very thin. Fortunately, as I became more and more mobile again, I was able to get back in the kitchen and do lots of cooking, particularly freezing stuff away, because I knew that, as soon as I went back to work full time, I'd never have the time (or inclination) to do it. I love cooking, but when I first had the accident, I just couldn't be bothered, and had to rely on OH to make our meals (and he was superb I should add!). Anyway, now that I'm back in the kitchen, I seem to have a renewed passion for cooking, so maybe it's been a bit of a blessing in disguise.
Thanks SandyWroe - no I will definitely not drive myself bonkers at work until I feel thoroughly recovered. I have already managed to get out of a few things, at least on a temporary basis. Thanks for your concern. Chox.
