What song starts with a bass guitar and kinda goes like dum dum de dum de dum dum de dum.I know its not much help but my daughter want the music and she only knows the first few notes.

This answer may come in twice because my computer is on the blink, but could it be 'Dancing in the Moonlight' by Thin Lizzy? A superb song which starts more or less just with bass in a kind of dum-de-dum rhythm.
