Laptop won't connect to the Internet, why?
1 Answers
Hi everybody,
I have a laptop which has Windows 2000 on it. I have put my Virgin Media Ethernet lead into it (I have also bought a brand new one as well). All I get is a screen saying "cannot find server". I have taken it into a computer shop and it WILL work in the shop. Virgin Media are saying there is nothing more they can do as it doesn't sound like it has an internet card in the laptop but it has because it was running in the shop. Could it be a problem with Windows 2000.
Many thanks to all who take the time in reading the above and maybe even replying.

To me that OS wont support the latest Internet speeds as the the ethernet card is too slow or may require a driver update. But it is highly unlikely that any will be available as this OS is no longer supported by Microsoft or third party vendors.
