Internet connection keeps stopping

Can anyone tell me why every so often, around 3 times a day i have to keep unplugging my modem, then plug it back in, because the internet connection keeps stopping for no reason whatsoever?????

(i am on broadband, and also on a network, if that makes any difference?)

mine also drops several times per day.im with wanadoo and my modem drops out and says 'initialising line' and then after a few moments its ok again and i can reconnect.i still havent solved the problem but i dl'ed a free bit of software called 'cidial' from download.com which automatically re-connects every time my connection breaks which is handy when dl'ing large files.

May not be your problem, but when my internet was dropping out I changed from USB to Ethernet connection. Not had one instance since and that was a couple of months ago. As you say, drives you mad.

Who is your service provider

My service provider is Blueyonder, i was connected through USB, but then when i networked i had to change to ethernet, it was fine for about 3-4 months after networking but has recently started doing this now!

any other ideas????   please?  :)
