What a horrible ordeal this poor 13 year old child was forced to endure at the hands of these 9 Asian paedophile monsters.
The report which for some reason was given a low news profile, only states the sentence given to one of the savages, and he was sentenced to nine years in prison, this was later reduced to seven years on appeal.
The whole nine should have been given life, after all isn't this the mandatory sentence for rape?

I'm sure we all agree with you that these are truly vile, evil men.
However, I don't think anyone can honestly say that they should've been given a mandatory life sentence, because rape doesn't actually HAVE a mandatory life sentence.
So, let's get back onto the (very well) beaten track - in answer to your original question - it would be great if they had been given longer sentences, but not life. Pre-meditated murder should carry a life sentence, but not rape.
If rape carried a life sentence, rapists would figure "Well...may as well kill her..."

No, I am not saying that girl was to blame. I am saying society should look at the reasons behind as they looked at short skirts being the reason behind accidents in summer. It is very easy to eliminate criminal (which may work) but eliminating the reason of crime always gives long lasting results. And unfortunately there are such animals around (whether we accept that or not) but you can’t see them before they have already struck. And then even more unfortunately law and sentence does not do justice even after they have struck. So what is the solution then according to you?
