My primary school in Surrey was taken over by the Scientologists for my last year before secondary school - I remember my parents being most concerned about their influence. As a child I can't say I noticed much, I just got on with my work and they didn't seem different from any other fairly liberal teachers in the late 1950s. That must have been one of their first forays into the UK, on reflection.
