To find one of your facebook friends numbers on their profile and then start texting them?

I've done it to a couple of people, to teach them to put their number on display for their hundreds of friends (some of which they probably don't know). But wouldn't dream of doing it to anyone it would properly scare, or the person whose friend got attacked from meeting up with someone online, but she doesn't have her number on display anyway.

I tell them that they know me and get them to guess who I am by giving them clues, after the initial shock . . .

I'd be a bit shocked at first but find it funny later on.

cazz i didn't but they didn't know what mine was. But if they have their number on show, and they have strangers as friends, people who they aren't friends with in the real world could use it so it's a way of telling to be careful who they add and whether they should have their number on show.

Steg that's right, someone (who hasn't got their number on show anyway) had a best friend who had a paedo get her number . . . .if she had her number on display I wouldn't do it to her.

No, I mentioned it earlier in the thread. He friend got attacked but is ok now, but I wouldn't scare her best friend like this.

I think it's a pointless thing to do - why should you be acting as monitor - just tell them it's stupid, don't text them. It's a bit nerdy...

She isn't my best friend, it was her best friend that was attacked by a paedo.
