Anyone else believe it was real footage?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.As far as I remember it, it was some film students who made this film, and the made a huge fuss before hand with banners and posters saying "have you seen these three people! "missing" etc. The reason for this of course was to make people believe it was real. But as said above, the actors came to the premiere and made promotion interviews, which would have been impossible if the footage was real. Quite clever actually :)
I remember when my boyfriend saw it the first time, he asked about something and I looked around a bit, and ended up on IMDB's boards to see if what people had to say. And while looking I discovered that - yes there actually is people who thought it was real and even some who were disappointed that it wasn't real. I think that is quite disgusting!
For my part - No I've never thought it was real, I didn't see it to the premiere but I saw it in the theatre - I was freaked about the last part though!!
