SD card

I have recently returned from a holiday where i took around 150 photo s on a camera we had just bought, in the camera is a 2gb sd card. Stupidly! i have pressed the wrong button when i was trying to delete a single photo and managed to erase them all! whoops. Question is, is it possible to retrieve any of the data from the card once it has been erased. How do the police retrieve deleted data? I think i already know the answer but if some genius can help i would be extremely greatful. I have a wife on mute and i'm eating with the animals! lol. seriously can this be done??
