can anyone identify, by my inadequate description, a climbing plant that grows up a fence and then cascades. it has long, fairly strong shoots with very attractive trifold leaves on both sides opposite each other. i thought it was jasmine, for some reason or other but i don't see it in any book.

What colour are the leaves? Any sign of flowers, to give us a clue?

the leaves are fairly small, getting smaller as they reach the tip. they are shiny, mid-green on top, and pale, matt underneath. the flowers are small and white.

just noticed something else., the stems are square.

Have a look at Russian Vine or Japanese Honeysuckle ?

it's not russian vine, and it's more uniform than japanese honeysuckle. keep the suggestions coming though, please

Each one of the 3 leaves is no more than 2 centimetres

Can you describe the white flowers more bunty? I don't recognise it from the leaves personally

the flowers are very small, and as i should have mentioned earlier, bloom in winter.

Yes i thought winter jasmine but that is usually yellow but I see there are some white varieties so that could well be it.

i had a notion that it was jasmine at the start, but when i looked at pictures of jasmine on the computer it looked entirely different.
