Hi all

Returning from the pub and being somewhat inebriated and therefore feeling unrealistically hungry I purchased a takeaway meal from my local Chinese restaurant.
When I got this home and opened the bag I found that it was supplied in an all plastic ROUND container.
I am used to the standard rectangular foil container plus cardboard lid or the all-plastic rectangular containers.
When did round containers become available?

I've always wanted a chinese like they have in america in them cardboard boxes
They became available when your local takeaway increased their storage space. (Round containers obviously take up more space than rectangular ones do because you can't store piles of them side by side without any spaces).

A subsidiary question, of course, has to be "Just how p!ssed do you have to be to worry about the shape of takeaway containers?"

Our local Chinese do round containers for sauce & veg.
everything else is in rectangle ones with plastic lid.

You should never confuse my naturally inquisitive nature with concern.
My chinese has changed the shape of its container also.. .the plastic rectangle has got thinner and longer - dont like them. Have never been given a round container - that would be weird!
yuk
Does it taste different depending on what shape the container is?

Taste of chinese takeaway = 100% important

Shape of container meal is in = irrelevant
One of ours has started using see thru plastic containers which require a small tactical nuclear weapon to open.
