Audacity

I have downloaded Audacity & I am transfering Audio Tapes successfully via line input to my pc,however there is no mention of Line Input on the Audacity Page & I cannot see how to change input to any other choice.
I have used Audacity in the past without trouble & cannot understand why the input section will not work,please help.

If it's not there try clicking on the view menu and select toolbars and turn on the mixer (or input/ouput) toolbar

(I've not got it to hand to check at moment, so a bit of a guess on the last part)

There is an excellent Audacity forum.
My similar query was answered very efficiently.
