Our ex neighbours...

... moved out at the begining of May, they asked me to look after a couple of outdoor pot plants until they'd settled in their new house. When we returned after a weekend away they'd left 20 large pots in our drive. I water them every day which is no hardship but I'd like to know how long we should keep them. We've not heard from them since before they left. TIA x

Well I will remember this thread for when I dont want to waste money on getting a skip to get rid of 20 pot plants. If I was you I would put a sign up saying 'Free pot plants. Must go to a caring home'

if you cant contact them then it looks as if you have gained some pot plants. Have you a forwarding adress?

This is the saddest and the funniest thing I have heard of in a long time.
You are obviously very well meaning and caring and I applaud that, but unless you want to keep the plants, stop watering them.
Enough is enough.

Yes - but why didn't they just leave these pot plants where they were , at the property they left - why bother asking a neighbour to look after them ?

When I went to pick up my dad's ashes from the undertaker the guy told me that they are a whole room full of ashes that people have just abandoned.

No forwarding address for them as they were looking for a house in Wales when they left. It's a rented property and they were asked to leave. I wouldn't stop watering them as I don't want the plants to die. I'd just like to know, legally, how long I have to keep them before I do put that sign on them "Free to a good home". x
p.s. We looked in the garden centre and some of the plants are worth a lot of money.

Perhaps they have had their post redirected ?
Write a letter to them at their old address and post it..........the Royal Mail may well send it to their new address.

Too many for me to keep but neighbours are begining to put their names on some of them. No forwarding address, I've asked the chap who owns the house. I just don't want to get rid of them (the plants) then they (the ex's) turn up and get nasty coz I've given them away. x

Just because they haven't left a forwarding address, doesn't mean that they aren't having their post redirected...........
