help with facebook

just joined fb, after being told how fantastic it is. well so far its been useless. every time i do a search i get about 6 faces to choose from. so i then give a city they´re from, still no good.
so is it me, or is fb not very user friendly?

Theres a help centre when you click on Accounts top right hand corner of your homepage, try that

Ive just joined and find it fantastic. Loads of friends and family came up automatically for me to contact. There are a few old schoolfriends Ive tried to find though, that Im having difficulty with but mainly perhaps because of their common names. Jane Smith and MIke Adams both from Birmingham. Anybody know them ? I dont know if Jane married which makes it more difficult

I too find it very difficult to navigate and even if I have someone's correct name and town it does not seem to find them, I thought it was just me.

you're trying to find someone in particular? and you can't recognise them from 6 possible suspects with photos?

or are you missing the "show more" option under the 6 suspects? or perhaps the person you're looking for isn't on FB?

hi sara, by the look of things, all the people( about 40 now) are not on fb

There should be 'show all people' under the names at the right hand side.

it could be that the person has hidden their name if you search for then,facebook is hard to navigate even with the aid of the help centre,

You have to be careful with the cities option. Where I live is near a large town but many of my local friends have Manchester - which is 30 miles away - as their 'city'.
