This must be an obvious question and as it is well known that God is omnipotent and has created Heaven & Earth, why is this not explained in the bible? Or is it?

I thought he was a fallen angel?
It is. Lucifer was one of the archangels until he blotted his copybook and was thrown out of heaven.
yes boxtops is right! And he's also the on that we were threatened with as children, as in ' the devil will come and punish you if you are bad'.................
According to the cathar religion God is the devil but they were murdered in their thousands by the christians in the twefth century, so perhaps they had a point.

Mmm... I always thought a fallen angel was a 'loose' woman. Haven't found one yet but still looking.

So does the bible actually admit that God made a booboo when he made this Lucifer?
I don't know about the origin, the devil, satan, or whatever it is called. Sometimes I feel it (evil?) is following me around. I also don't think one should focus long on "evil" because bad things will happen. I really shouln't be writing this.
The devil comes from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq and Iran.

Well god obviously is not omnipotent if he cannot deal with this devil character. So does he /she/it qualify to be a god?

Is the devil an invention of christianity or did they just nick the idea from some pre-existing religion.
