Plenty of bones in a turkey leg apparently
4 Answers
This happened to me a little while ago I brought 6 turkey legs from the butcher and he asked me whether I wanted them cut up so seeing the size of them I thought this would be a good idea as they are rather large so he chopped each one into about 3 or 4 bits Eventually I cooked them In a stew and it seems that the whole stew was full of these little bones and it made the stew rather tricky to eat and odd to look at.
Isn't a turkey leg structured like a chicken leg? Why all the bones?

Better to get the leg bones and remove all those bits..its not difficult to bone yourself if you have a fine sharp knife. I think the sinew ends calcify as the turkey gets more mature.
