I wish someone would hurry up and invent the microwave chiller; you shtick your G & T in, shut the door, hit "cool" and 30 sec later.. DINGGG ! it's ready.
Similarly - shove yer ice cube tray in, full of water, shut the door, hit "freeze" then 2 minutes later, plop them into your whisky!
(Maybe I should try wiring the plug the wrong way round on me microwave).

My dad was a whiskey drinker(sadly dead now) he never had a drink before 9pm so he used to put a jug of water in the fridge at teatime and it was nice and cold when he wanted it
Sorry, Answerpancer. you're not going to get far with your idea on Dragon's Den. It's been done!

Just call me decadent...
'Decadent'? Isn't that Greek for 'only has 10 teeth'? ;-)
sometimes Chris I don't love you :-(
Nice one Chris

Unfortunately, only half of the word is Greek; the 'dent' part is Latin. I believe there is a word to describe this construction. I am sure QuizMonster could tell us what is is.
Thanks for that, Scotman.

Actually I did remember enough of my school Latin to realise that 'dent' is derived from that language but I thought that excessive etymology might weaken my (already weak) joke.

Your reference to 'hybrid' words made me think of 'television' (which is the only one which readily came to mind) but there are more here:
