11 Ac. Worries of a Father in the Roman school. (5) ?r?t?
I know everyone thinks it is FRETS but has anyone worked out why yet ?
If FR for the father...... what about the rest? could it be anything to do with Fettes,(pretty long shot), or do you think there has been a misprint and there should be an "and" somewhere in the clue?

I can't work this one out. Like you I think there may be a mistake in the clue. "et" is the Latin word for "and" . It'll be interesting to see the answers!

The only connection that I can find with schools is that ETS is the company that made such a mess of marking the SATS Exams last year.

Yes, Beanpole, I did finish it, but I am a complete novice when it comes to Cryptic Crosswords and am still learning the jargon......it took me ages to get Sandal !!
