Hi everyone. I have a slight proplem and I was wondering if you have any idea as to why.

Well, I was downloading some things, and I went for a little nap. When I woke up (after about 2 hours) my modem was dead. I unplugged the USB and plugged it back in, still nothing. So I rebooted and everything seems to be alright. It's the first time that has ever happened, and hopefully the last.

Anybody any ideas?

Thanks.

I had trouble with internet drop-out using USB connection. Changed to ethernet (card cost a fiver) and no trouble since. Ethernet connection is more reliable.
I am having the same problem from the same modem, I thought that it was because i am using a long cable from the plug to my pc.

very interesting!!!!!!!!

i too am having probems this week where my icon changes to yellow(initialising line) and drops the connection.after a period of time it changes back to green and i can re-connect.

coincidence ? what isp are we all using ? im with wanadoo

Thanks for the advice guys.

And, odd as it is, the ISP I was with when I got the modem was Wanadoo, but now I am with Pipex.
Pipex recently upgraded their solo accounts so that they were all a minimum of 1mb connections, happened during June / July so may have been at the time of the switchover.
