Got an odd rash started in my left armpit. Haven't changed deodorant, shower gel etc. nor is washing powder & fab soft different. It's been there about 10 days, very itchy. Sudocream night & morning after a shower + towel dry hasn't cleared it up. If anything the red bit is getting bigger.
Any ideas, please? here's a pic http://yfrog.com/1qimage0203sj

Hi, not expert on rashes, but it does look like an infection....Folliculitis.

See your GP as an antibiotic cream e.g Fucidin may settle it down.
Oooh, ouch. My son had something like that kia but over a larger area. The doc said it was often the case with men that they use too much deodorant, don't wash it off thoroughly before applying more and so, as they don't shave their armpits as women do, tended to get a build up which causes dermatitis & infections. Leave off using deodorant for a few days (I know) & only use something like Simple products and get a diagnosis & some cream from your gp. My son's rash was awful before he did anything about it, you don't want that to happen.
It looks like a heat rash to me,Robins starch -if you can get hold of any-will sort it out.
i get psoraisis under my arms which can be agony when it flares up! can be caused by some deodarants so try find a sensitive one. oh oh also although i dont shave my pits i do clip them so that they are much shorter, its far more hygenic and therefore better for the skin under you arms.
My son got impetigo in his armpit. Nasty blistery rash.
What deodorant are you using at the moment? It reminds me of my partner, he was using Lynx since he was a teenger and had no problem with it until abt 2 yrs ago and it took a while for us to figure it out so he tried to change the deodorant to see if any different, and the rash has gone. He's currently using fcuk anti-perspirant deodorant and has no problem with it so far. Let us know how it goes.

Question Author
Thanks all, it was an infection. Course of cream and it should clear up within a fortnight. Nowhere near as itchy or angry looking.
Thanks for the feedback.
