Maybe it was 'based on' or used a sample from the track that gary baldy has found for you but the track in the form as most people know it, is a Madonna creation!

I saw an inheritance program once,you know the ones where they are looking for heirs to lost fortunes that kinda thing and that song was one of the features.i think they got a cheque for �100ish grand

Sepheryn was written by CLIVE Muldoon and Dave Curtiss (Curtiss Muldoon was the name they recorded it under, as a duo). It was later re-written by Muldoon's niece, Christine Leach, *** **-titled it Ray of Light. After he and Madonna bought the rights to the track, William Orbit...erm, did whatever William Orbit does...then Madge did a bit of an overhaul on the lyrics to turn it into the song we know today. Phew. That's why all five are credited as co-writers.

As for sitting pretty, I don't know about Dave Curtiss, but I'm afraid it's too late for Clive Muldoon - he died of an overdose yonks back.

Mr Muldoon is not sitting pretty, he passed away many many years ago. Mr Curtiss has received some nice royalty checks. He spent many years trying to break into the music industry and this was his moment. He is, infact, my uncle. A most charismatic personality. A very nice guy.

Mr Muldoon.....overdose?? As I heard it, from my Uncle (Dave Curtiss) his death was drug related, but not from an overdose....he actually chocked on a pill. Bit ironic really.

wookiemaster- that's so cool that dave curtiss is your uncle. i have both curtiss maldoon albums on vinyl plus the bodast material. i think they are some of the most under rated songwriters ever. ive listened to those records thousands of times. is there any way to get in touch with dave? i'd love to tell him how much i like his music. i was into it before the madonna thing. my email is [email protected]
