Ok here's a puzzler
this is an occupation of a 16 year old male on the 1871 census for aberdeen:
Occupation: 'Flopmant Drammangord'
It's the ancestry transcription and of course i can't look at the primary but what the hell could it be.

This entire record looks really fishy. None of these people show up anywhere on the 1871 census. I've had a look for the wife's family, the Marters, also and nothing in Aberdeen. Ancestry shows them as a household, but they are split over two addresses 47 Lach Street and 211 Tring Baby(!) Several most of the occupations are gobbledegook. Makes you wonder how Ancestry got the transcriptions in the first place!
