There seems to be a mind boggling choice and a good starting point would be the Which magazine reviews:

This might also be useful as it has some reviews:

The Boots site also has some star ratings:

Before you do anything , check with your hospital. Mine leant out car seats for newborns to 9 months, so what money we had could be spent on her pram and a car seat for when she was older. Also check the NCT website for sales in your area. Many parents sell things which their babies have outgrown or are not used and they are often in fantastic condition at a fraction of the price - with proceeds being split between the seller and the NCT.
I have the Graco mosaic travel system which was just under £200. The only thing is the ones there at the time were in pink or blue so we bought both and took one back hee hee! You can get other varietys in pattern though. Anyway it just has the car seat with it rather than a carry cot as well which I personally think are a waste of money as baby outgrows them so quickly and they easily add £100 onto the price. It's not as bulky as some of the travel systems you see and if you just want to use the pushchair it reclines fully. I think its really nice to push too. And its great value for money, I was looking at the Silver Cross 3D before and that was about £500 all in and as a childminder, I use a triple or double buggy through the week so couldn't justify that money on a weekend pram. I would look around some baby stores and try out the ones on display.
Firsty congratulations :-) a new baby is such a lovely time.
I have not had to buy a pushchair for many years lol, but i did help my friend choose hers last year. She bought a streety complete system which was very reasonably priced. Unfortunately the reason for this soon became apparent when the handle on the car seat fell apart after very little use. This was replaced, but the replacement did the same, so she ended up insisting on a refund. Sorry it`s a negative post, but im guessing you wanted them as well as good ones lol. Enjoy looking for your new system, but even more good luck with the new arrival :-)
