bum nose...
14 Answers
is it possible to give yourself a 'bum nose', by constantly wiping the nostrils upwards..like you would with the back of your hand, or by putting cream unside it a lot, or by picking it or wiping it with tissues inside etc..
generally just making both sides go up so often over the years that they everntually form a 'crease' in the centre and change the shape of your nose permanently...?
cheers

joko.....indeed it is possible and one can see this in people who have had allergies throughout their lives. From childhood, they constantly wipe their nose because of the discharge and push the nose upwards to relieve the nasal blockage due to their allergy.
After many years, they develop, the "bum nose" and the transverse nasal crease of the chronic allergic rhinitis.

sqad...is there any way to reverse this then...?
i have a number of allergies, and was brought up with cats...and im allergic to them...i actually blew my nose so often, that i ended up with a varicose vein inside the nostril that bled all the time, so i had to get it cauterised.
i dont have the cats anymore and dont need to blew my nose as often..but i have noticed looking at photos that there is definitely an change in the shape of my nose...
it is also slightly bent...hardly noticable but it did affect the breathing etc, and i had an op on it to make the passage on one side bigger (they should have just straightened it really)
thanks
