None of us get a look in with the telly - and don't get me started on re-runs of Dad's Army.....
Mrs_O,

Its just passed our house about 20 mins ago, ( it was not doing stunts though) It was on its way up north.

For the moment Vibra......for the moment
Sqad, you must be just my type then ;o).

I must admit though I really enjoyed our recent day out at Duxford. We used to live fairly close and I went 30+ years ago and then again this year. It has changed!! Mind you I was dragged around the renovations hanger, that was somewhat boring.

I am quite interested in modern history and the 2nd World War. But the mechanics of aircraft leave me cold. I can't even understand how they get off the ground and fly!!!

Lottie, come & meet Mr O. He can explain Bernoulli's equation til your eyes glaze over
I think I'll pass on that. I have a complete mental block on anything involving, mechanics, electronics, nuclear physics, etc. etc. etc.
olive/ lofty.....my main interest was in Fighter Command and the Battle of Britain, but one day I was operating and my anaesthetist was reading the Telegraph and he read out an advert for a weekend tour of Bomber County in Woodhall Spa. I went with a mate and was so impressed that I returned again and filled a small coach load of colleagues from the hospital and we stayed at the Petwood Hotel Woodhall Spa which was the officers mess of 617 Dambuster sqadron. It was a fabulous weekend and it should be in the curriculum of all schools.

redhelen - Mr O did that once.
i told him to come away from the window in case people thought I had married him for his money
You would actually get on well with Mr LL Sqad!! I think he knows all the WW2 airfields off by heart. On any journey I am informed of the nearby airfields he has visited, especially when he was in his teens and in the ATC. His biggest wish was to join the airforce, but circumstances meant it wasn't possible.
R.A.F Coningsby.........seen it many times..............fantastic.
I live in a county full of old RAF airfields Sqad. Surrounded by them, UK and USAF.
And Dad's Army land ain't too far away either.
I can see the BT tower/post office tower... whatever it's called... Not so interesting as a plane doing stunts alas.

I can also see two pigeons.
