Is it still possible to be buried at sea? If travelling abroad and one dies while abroad, is it possible to have opted for burial at sea should this happen?

Strangely, I can't find anything on the web about the legality (or otherwise) of burial at sea within international waters.

My mother wanted to be scattered at sea (well, her ashes) and my BIL looked into is and it seemed very complicated - so she made other plans.

Oh yes Eddie, I understand the difference... it just seemed to involve a rowing boat in mother's version, rather than the nice interment service she eventually had on dry land!
I saw something once about dying at sea from a contagious disease (or was in battle?) where the captain has authority to lower the deceased into the sea. May have been international waters though.
I requested that I be buried at sea, and that my wife was to dance on my grave!
