I go to a Music quiz every Sunday night, we meet with good friends and have a laugh, my gripe is, the greedy breweries are closing our local down by charging extortionate rents, greedy barstards!!!!
sorry for the rant but I feel so sad that they have taken from us a good night...

What a shame. Are there enough of you in the area to buy the pub? Some villages down here have resorted to this.

I just the think the atmosphere is good in a local pub where you go in and know everyone
they are closing because they cannot compete with the supermarket prices, people are buying and drinking at home because its cheaper. its a shame, most of the pubs in my area are now either mcdonalds or chinese all you can eat resturants

Hi Cazzz, we all feel a bit 'flat' today, had phone calls from the gang and we are gobsmacked the way it was done last night
I some times think the breweries want the pubs to close, they dont give a Sugar if you drink at home or in the pub you're still drinking THEIR beer and if the pubs close they can sell them off and not be bothered with things like rates, insurance, staff wages etc

it was a sad day when the Government set the rules for the big breweries to get rid of so many pubs, they steam rollered what was left by putting them up for lease and forcing the lease holder to buy their beers
Pubs can be the Heartbeat of many a community Bobbi, and it's sad that they are depriving local people of their social life where they can mix with friends and enjoy a good night out without spending a small fortune.......times and greed are changing everything

Same with all the working mens clubs they have all gone here except one. I can remember years ago we used to have all he big live bands there. And they used to do lots of outings for the kids..I now drive past a great big block of flats where it used to be and think of the good times I used to have there.

hello wendi, I realize times have to move on but why has it to be the man in the street who suffers yet again in the name of greed
Hiya sis. How far is the next watering hole where the quiz could be continued? I am sure a new landlord would appreciate the business this could bring.

the next pub is a public bar whereas this one had a room a function room, it worked well with those who did not want to take part in a music quiz..but we did win it sis x
It was the same here wendilla, the local Miners Welfare is closed down and awaiting demolition mind you the club never really recovered after the strike, when the committee of the club who were all militants allowed the club to be used as the local head quarters for the strike, despite the the fact that the majority of members were working. After the strike the attitude was you lot wanted it during the strike well it's all yours now and the best of luck with it now the pickets have all gone home
I don't doubt you did Bobbi! Eclectic taste ♫ - what more could any team want? (Hope that doesn't mean you have to give renditions) ☺
