according to wiki, statistics from the 2001 UK census showed that there were 747,285 people recorded as being of pakinstani descent living in the UK, this will by now surely have increased slightly, so allowing for the under 16s with no income, there is probably quite alot of the money being donated coming from people in the UK who have family and other ties to Pakistan, so there is probably a good chance they will be raising money for the disaster fund on a more long term basis that the current emergency appeal.
Most of the people that are effected by the flooding have probably never even heard of the UK, I find it a little discomforting that people are so willing to tar an entire race due to the actions of a very small minority of their people. We have murderers, rapist and worse in this country, does that mean every single person in the UK should be treated as such?
the quarter of a million Pakistani residents with US citizenship will also be sending donations i assume, this will be a huge boost to any donations raised by the appeal.
infact if wiki is correct, there are 7 million Pakistanis living abroard:

no doubt they are all doing their bit
