When I was 14/15 I got caught shoplifting but I don't know what I got, a caution, a warning or something different. I have never been involved with something like it before or since and I want to go to uni to study as a Paramedic. I recently had a CRB check with an ambulance service and I dont know if it will show up? Will it effect my chances of getting into uni too?

I think receiving a caution as a child won't affect your chances in either Uni or your chosen career.
You would have got a reprimand.

It's not serious. It happened a while ago and you haven't re-offended since so I don't think there is a lot to worry about.

You will need to have an enhanced criminal records check, and I think it may show, but I don't think this will stop from your course of study.
Even if it did show, the CRB may not disclose if they feel it is irrelevant to the post you have applied for.

It also depends how long ago it was (you don't state how old you are now).

You can also look into the Rehabilitation of Offenders act. I know it exists but my expertise on it is very minimal I'm afraid. But hey its a starter for 10.

Hope this helps
That offence at 15 for a 49 year old is irrelevant now.
