stokemaveric is this not just seen as a vaguely moving dot of light?
It is, but very fascinating.

Let's hope the skies are clear tonight.

not now michael52 its quite bright and this moving dot of light is travelling at 17,000 miles an hour and of interest to those that like space flight...but yes to those people who arent interseted i guess it is a moving dot of light lol...
Funnygirl how do you know which one's the Spacestation as there are many brightly lit moving objects in the sky, or is the ss considerably larger then the rest?
Sorry stoke I didn't mean my question in a way of uninterested, far from it as i was quite the budding astronomer when i was younger, my question was more to ask how can you see it against all the other stars etc in the sky.
Well I don't see many shooting stars and looking up at the appointed time this is the only thing moving steadily across the sky.
I think it may be cloudy tonight but ill keep an eye out for it.
Thanks stokemaveric, will be looking up tonight

If you click on the link you can watch it when it hits the west coast then go out. It does not SHOOT across the sky it glides and if skies are clear tonight it should be a good view as it will take 3 minutes on the 9 19 time but will only be on view 1 min later at 10 54
It's times like this and during the Perseid meteor shower etc.. that i really wish I had a shed with a mini Observatory. There's so much happening up there that is mysterious and amazing. Which sites are there out there that might have a better view of these beautiful celestial objects?
You can get some links from here.
