he wants you to go and join them rat, so us "women" can get some peace.
hi, thanks wendilla. Me and mr b went out to a field near us, no light pollution etc and it was really lovely sitting there holding hands in the dark (actually not that dark because of the bright moon) watching it. Is it the sun shining off it that makes it light up, or lights on it? how come it disappears in the middle of the sky rather than reaching the horizon?
It's the sun reflecting from it bednobs.
It went into the Earth's shadow so it wasn't getting sunlight any more.

You're most welcome :)
isn't it in the earth's shadow when it's over us though?
Remember bednobs, it's very high up. It'll still see the sun long after it's gone down for us.
thanks :) God, i'm thick
No you're not. :)
bednobs ,what a nice way to spend an evening, sounds very romantic.
it was lovely :) slightly nippy tho!
maybe you should have put some clothes on ?
what? No thanks whats the point of alfresco romanticness if clothes are involved?
Good point, well made ;)

Brilliant you all saw it .Tonight should be good 9 05 for 4 mins. then again at 10 40 pm but just 1 min.
Bearing in mind that it is approx the size of 2 football pitches and approx 200 miles high travelling at approx 17 t0 18000 miles per hour. sometimes you can see the shapes protruding out at the back and if you are lucky enough to have clear skies when the Spaceshuttle is on it's way up and coming down you can see a double flyby. I have seen in twice and it's spectacular.I have been watching this for nearly 4 years and every time is just as exciting. Good luck for tonight .I will post again in the evening to remind people.
