Can any one give me infomation
Is there any one out there that has been able to receive a visa with convictions on shoplifting or theft from the us embassy.
As my relative has an appointment with the us embassy, and this would be helpful to hear some has been successful and has been able to travel to the us free form worry.

then again I could be wrong moral turpitude and 9/11 has caused normal people like me who have made minor mistakes to be labelled and it doesnt help when your asian like me.

Sorry, but as far as the US authorities are concerned, shoplifting IS 'big time crime'. You could assault someone, leaving him bleeding an unconscious , without necessarily committing a crime of 'moral turpitude'. However nicking a Mars bar from your local newsagent DOES count as moral turpitude:
