DVD Recorder

I have a Panasonic DMR-EZ28EB DVD Recorder which of course plays back all DVD recordings but also Recorded CDs, because it does not however record CDs,I used a DVD-R to record a programme from Sky+ H/D box of Classic F/M (sound only).Although I can play the recording directly from the Sky box through the T/V the DVD disc will playback but no sound is coming out.Can anyone please explain this to me.
