Internet switching off

The internet keeps disconnecting and I lose the connection for a few minutes and then it re-connects. I have a router and it's the fourth green light from the right which goes out when it does this. I wait until it comes on again and I am re-connected.
Can anyone suggest a remedy for this please?????

Change your internet provider grandpa - if it's AOL chuck the router out of the wondow

Grandpajoe, That sounds similar to issues i do have with my connection at times, There should be a button at the back which turns it on and off. When this happens again with your connection going, turn it off at the back for a minute and then back on it should help

check your bt line for crackling noises. if you have them get bt to do a line test they will repair it,your internet will disconnect if you line is bad

Make sure you have filters on ALL your phones sockets.
