shewees are great. never used one for producing a sample for the doctor (although i'm sure it would work), but use one regularly when out and about walking in the countryside. means i can pee standing up against a tree just like a bloke and don't have to expose my backside to all and sundry. much more discrete and has removed the anxiety of needing a pee when we go out walking. i really would recommend them.
first time i ever needed to produce a sample when pregnant, many moons ago, i used a pyrex bowl and then decanted it into a small glass bottle. this was before the days of giving out plastic sample bottles. the pyrex bowl has foreverafter been known as the wee wee bowl and is now mainly used for microwaving peas in - honestly!!
i find that if you just hold the sample bottle underneath you, as you hover over the loo, you get a pretty good sample. it's easy enough to wash your hands and the bottle afterwards.
