Is it possible to find out whether a business that has been operational for the last year, registered with the inland revenue within its first three months of opening - as is the law?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Not sure that it is required. They would only need to register for VAT if their turnover will be over �60,000 (or thereabouts) per year. They wouls also only need to register for PAYE if they are an employee.
So if you have a sole trader builder who is turning over �50,000 a year, I don't think he would need to register with HM Revenue & Customs (the new name for the revenue)
