I used a program a few years ago called tunebite to strip away DRM from a legally downloaded film I'd purchased. It records in real time in the same format and file size as whatever media file you play.
As Ap says you'll need to convert to VOB to play on a DVD, or configure tunebite to record in AVI, most players support that format.
Unfortunately tunebite's...
If you do, it will expire and become unplayable after a certain amount of time - but if that isn't a problem, you will need to download a bit of software that will convert it into a VOB file (that can be read on all DVD players).
