Yes cabs - I had a funny turn and thought dammit - let's walk!
I counselled someone on the phone, visited a chipshop and took a shortcut through a high security private road - what an adventure! Me legs feel like tree trunks!
Answerprancer - you live in SW London don`t you? (like me) Where did you walk from/to?

7 miles *across the south of London* - just one of those moments, had to be done - it was worth it :-)
The walk started in Sutton 237SJ - can't say where it ended for personal reasons but it was 7 miles.
So did you go 7 miles east from Sutton or west? I promise I won`t tell anybody

I do this occasionally- walking 10 miles home (3 hrs). It's really enjoyable (provided it's not raining), it seems much easier after a few drinks, and you see things you normally miss when driving
