Just wondered whether I can get a sharps bin on my prescription?

At the moment I take my full one up to the surgery and after much faffing about they finally produce a replacement (as if they were doing me a favour) Apparently they hardly ever have spares! They always give me a tiny one, and after a bit of a "discussion" finally find one a size bigger. It's not like I'm going to stop being diabetic any time soon - I want a biggie! They will never give me 2, though what I am supposed to do when one is full and I haven't managed to get to the surgery for a replacement is a puzzle.

Grrr! Rant over! It used to be much easier when the council collected & replaced them

My stepson has a sharps bin on prescription (he is also diabetic), there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to ask your GP to put one on repeat prescription for you.
