fungal nail infection

One of my toenails has a fungal infection in it.. i've tried to get rid of it with the varnish stuff you can buy and with tea tree oil but it's still there.. i've read that vicks vapor rub will sort it out..has anyone else heard this or used this..if so did it work?

I've never heard that vick's vaporub would get rid of fungal nail infections, there is no reason that it should work. Visit your GP they can give you tablets and cream to treat the problem.
Try Clear Zal - you use it twice a day. My doc won't give antibiotics for fungal toenails as she she says the side effects can be quite nasty.
Vick`s vapor rub......certainly worth a trial-

Lamisil Cream is the treatment of choice.

If no improvement see your GP for confirmation of the diagnosis.
Try a coctail of treatments. The infection can be more than one strain or species of fungus. Consequently they can be resistent to one of the treatments.

The infections are hard to shift. I have had some tentative success with "Tinaderm" spray (Tolnaftate) which is effective against tinea in combination with Clotrimozole which works against yeast species.
