I work voluntry at a cat rescue centre & see some bad treated cats who have just been thrown out & abandoned etc. Today we received a phone call from a girl wanting to bring her 2 young cats as she now is allergic to them! We told her she would have to go on the waiting list(which has app 200 cats on it & we have only 14 pens) & that we would take her details. She replied that if we didn't take them TODAY she would MAKE THEM HOMELESS! We had no choice but to take them meaning we had to put some kittens in with others whether they liked it or not. When she arrived i had to go out of the way or i would have strangled her! I'm sorry it's not very professional of me but i was so mad! We asked her to bring any of the cats personnal things with her ie: beds, food, toys etc. She arrived with NOTHING, the cats had NO registered vet, Hadn't been nuetered, fleed, wormed of microchipped, she'd done NOTHiING for them.Oh & to top it all she had named them Ronnie & Reggie!!! The cats were shaking & very frightened. I put them in their clean pen with a warm bed, toys, food & water. Just before i left i looked in on them & they were huddled togeather asleep! They are 2 lovely cats & i'm sure we will find good homes for them(togeather if poss). Will up-date you with progress.

I think that people think that cats are independent and self sufficient and need no care. They are actually quite interesting little monsters and they are very easily stressed.

I understand cat psychology much more than I understand humans.

I hope you find a good home for them.
The poor little things!

I got my two gorgeous little girls from a rescue place. They had been there quite a while, I think people had been put off there being the two of them and they would only rehome them as a pair as they are sisters.

I hope they find a good home soon. Keep us updated.
My two are brother and sister - they go from barely tolerating each other to hating each other. Typical siblings I suppose.
Mine aren't that keen on each other either.

They happily do their own thing most of the time though with the occasional smack or fist fight.
know just how you feel - have worked most of my life in animal welfare - remember taking a dog in once cos the owner had changed the couch and the dog no longer matched!
We got our Perry from a cat's retreat.. nearly a year ago... he'd been left in a rented flat when the owners left... yes, he Mangetouts in the bath and brings in birds, rats and frogs... but we love him...
Good on you Kat1 - I couldn't do what you do, it would break me up. My 3 great snoring mogs send best wishes to your newcomers.
I went out for dinner tonight...my cousin said, very seriously, I think your cat has a personality disorder...
all cats have a personality disorder - they are just plain evil and manipulative. It's the way that they just sit and stare at you that is just so freaky.

My two are being sssooo quiet that there has to be mischief afoot.
So much for the allergy excuse! There are literally hundreds of unwanted cats and kittens, people just don't bother getting them spayed/neutered.I always have rescue cats, mine are 16 and 15 years old,i now only have 3.

Just knew you would be a catlover catgirl! My cat lived until she was 20 & had a great life. I work at the resue centre for the cats & nothing else. I clean their pens out, make them comfortable, talk & stroke to them & hopefully re-home them.
