why do you have to have the TV on? when my brother was the age of your daughter we used to play great pretend games like hippos and hide and seek, we used to read books to each other and do nursery rhyme games. My niece's children still do - if there's one thing I don't like about modern culture (and this is not a pop at you, jeno) it's people who leave the TV on all day whether they are watching or not.
I don't understand this. Why do you 'have' to have the television on for any reason? There are plenty of other things your daughter could do instead of watching television. (Actually, I think The Night Garden is excellent).
bet you are sorry you asked now jeno... ;)

Hi boxtops i know what you are saying sometimes it is just on in the back ground i love singing nursery rhymes with my little one favourite at the moment is row row row your boat we do all kinds of games together the tv is just on i suppose x
Iggle Piggle gives me the creeps....
The Night Garden was originally intended as a wind down evening prog, but is now repeated throughout the day, which is why it induces a coma like state in you.
I know what you mean jeno.. also hated balamory too
Turn over about 5.30ish to CITV...Shawn the Sheep's on and it's hysterical.

Great innit Helen? I'm seriously thinking of buying/downloading some episodes of it.

its my tv, i can leave it on and do other things with the children like drawing, writing and singing nursery rhymes as wel. why does that upset so many people? get a grip.

my eldest daughter seems to have grown out of itng, so now its all dora dora dora, which believe me is worse! she is currently getting into fresh beat band which is annoying american cheese, but my grls like to copy the moves and sing along.

and yes, itng is meant to send children to sleep, but invariably its the adults it affects more. how many times can iggle piggle lose his bleeeding blanket? every time!
I can cope with ITNG, it's Zing Zillas which make my teeth itch, detest that programme.
a bit creepy, but they do some good tunes and dancing, hence, girls are glued to that too.
It drives me mental- hate those birdy type things, and every episode we tune into seems to be on a blue grass theme- its an awful programme.
