Help with HP Photosmart printer please

I fitted a new compatible HP350 black cartridge and was able to print off several sheets before I got an 'incompatible print cartridge' message -- I've followed the advice I found in different forums without success. I'm reluctant to pay for original HP cartridges -- can anyone recommend a compatible black cartridge that they use and which make of printer
'accepts' compatible cartridges better than HP?

My daughter gets her 350and 351 Morrisons Supermarket own. Never had any trouble never used any other.

They could be refilled/recycled cartridges. Sometimes the chip has not been reset.
