Retesting for MOT
My daughter's car failed it's MOT yesterday. It needs 4 new tyres + a few other minor things. Can she go to a proper tyre place, get the new tyres put on cheaper than the MOT garage and then take it back for them to do the minor things without them charging her to retest it? Or will they charge her the whole fee again? Thanks

You're only allowed to drive a car with a failed MOT to and from the test station legally.
Most garages will give you 14 days for a free retest, but you are free to have the repairs done anywhere you like. There are no rules that state the repairs have to be carried out by the MOT tester or by the garage the tester works for.
