Mixed Bag

This quiz is of a mixed lot,I require two answers,thanks if you can help.
1;The first car speedometers only went up to 35mph True or False?
2;At what age do human males reach half their adult height?

1. Almost certainly false (because the first speedometers were probably fitted in Germany, where they wouldn't register mph anyway). Further there seems to be no web reference to back up the statement in the question.
2. That question has been doing the rounds ever since pub quizzes first started. The answer is 2.

Thanks Buenchico,I can't find anything about the spedo question,I have never heard of that 2nd one before,its time I started going to pub quizzes,but I will accept your answers,thanks
